Expert knowledge in technical codes pertaining to various disciplines, e.g., ASME B31, NEC, ASME AG-1, ACI, etc.Education and Experience for the Construction Engineer 3 Position require a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and 10 years of practical work experience. Current registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable.
This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees can perform the job successfully.

- Expert organizational skills for field engineering oversight and status updates of multiple simultaneous construction projects.
- Experience in independently leading others in the execution of their duties.
- Experience working independently on tasks of varying complexity.
- Proven experience mentoring junior Field Engineers and Engineering Technologists in design review, pre-construction coordination, and construction oversight activities.
- Proficiency in reviewing engineering submittals and ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Advanced design and / or construction experience in nuclear, accelerator, laboratory, or industrial facility operations.
- Expert knowledge of construction work planning, control methods, facility maintenance, installation techniques, design guides, standards, and administrative practices.
- Proficient in reviewing field material requisitions, material take-offs, estimated quantities, and compliance with design specifications.
- Advanced understanding of engineering and construction techniques, applications, and technology tools.
- Experience with the design and / or installation of facility and infrastructure systems.
- Expert knowledge of industry, regulatory, or DOE / NNSA codes, standards, and criteria related to construction disciplines.
- Knowledge of DOE and LANL Engineering Standards and Conduct of Engineering.
