JOB SUMMARY : The Banquet Captain’s primary responsibility is to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests. The Banquet Captain oversees all aspects of banquets or events, including set-up, serving, and cleanup while focusing on detail, quality presentation and customer service. The Banquet Captain is also responsible for the supervision of banquet associates during banquets and events.

- Previous banquet or event experience required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost-effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.Assists guests in organizing banquet functions and ensures guest satisfaction by communicating with the host guest throughout the event.Directs banquet setup and scheduling, including anticipating banquet scheduling and supplies needs based on BEOs and forecasting. Maintains knowledge of banquet rooms, including setups, capacities, sizes, etc.Ensures proper billing and recording of all events in a timely manner, including the proper reporting of staff labor and gratuities. Prepares daily setup sheets and assignments for banquet associates.Demonstrates a working knowledge in the use of audio-visual equipment and is responsible for inventory and control of audio-visual equipment.Thoroughly communicates with management and banquet associates through daily communication. Attends and contributes to required meetings.Assists with interviews and the selection of qualified associates for hire. Provides effective orientation, training, coaching, evaluation, recognition, and motivation to associates. Provides associates with the necessary tools to perform their jobs.Identifies and communicates performance expectations as well as policies and procedures to associates. Enforces company policies and assists with administering corrective action as necessary, in a consistent and effective manner.Ensures and promotes a professional work environment free from inappropriate and offensive conduct of any type.Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his / her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.Performs all other duties as assigned.OTHER CONSIDERATIONS :

Summary
The Banquet Captain works primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. This position requires continuous standing and walking, and frequent lifting, carrying, bending and reaching throughout entire shift. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping, working with sharp objects (knives), exposure to computer terminals, standard cleaning chemicals and hot surfaces / appliances. All Food & Beverage department associates are required to wear rubber soled, non-slip footwear and must follow proper safety precautions at all times to avoid injuries.
Total Rewards
This position offers an estimated compensation of at least $15per hour. The role features a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Benefits include Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time (MN ESST) and 401(k) opportunities upon meeting eligibility criteria.
