Application Programmer - Level II

Role Designation :   Application Programmer - Level II

Federal Background Investigation Required :   Tier 2 (T2)

Certification Requirements :   At least one of the following : Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GIC SP, G SEC, or SSCP

Experience in this Discipline :   Eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency. Or four (4) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.

Functional Responsibility :   The Application Programmer - Level II is responsible for activities such as program design, coding, testing, debugging or documentation, for example :

(a) Designing and building web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.

(b) Designing and developing user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements. Contributes to the design group’s efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization’s online offerings.

(c) Designs the website to support the organization’s strategies and goals relative to external communications.

This individual has technical knowledge and responsibility for all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.

Understands the business or function for which application is designed. The Application Programmer – Level II may write programs according to specifications, which may be provided by Engineers, technical architects, or other computer scientists. The Application Programmer - Level II updates, repairs, modifies and expands existing computer programs.
