The Theater Offensive (TTO) seeks an experienced mission-driven marketing professional to join our marketing and communications department. We are looking for a strong project manager who effectively conveys impactful stories across various platforms. This is a collaborative role responsible for coordinating and collaborating on various marketing initiatives. This role manages campaign execution and includes budget oversight and performance analysis to ensure marketing goals and fundraising targets are achieved. This is a remote position, with an expectation to travel to Boston as necessary (please note, MA residency is required for this role). The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for connecting communities across race, sexuality, gender, and class.

About The Theater Offensive
The Theater Offensive is a social change organization focused on queer and trans people of color (QTPOC) and their allies that uses theater and the creative process as a cultural organizing tool. Founded in 1989 by a group of artist-activists, TTO grew out of a queer street theater troupe in Boston. Throughout its history, TTO has used bold art to challenge the status quo and help LGBTQ individuals break through personal isolation. TTO is at a pivotal moment in its history, with new shared organizational leadership, a new staffing structure, a new mission, and a new strategic plan.
Position Description
The Marketing Manager will work with The Theater Offensive’s Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute strategic marketing and fundraising strategies for The Theater Offensive. This role is also responsible for managing the organization’s social media channels and monitoring digital engagement.
Assist with campaign ideation
Generate copy and manage content for key channels (including email, website, social media, newsletters and more) with tailored messaging per target audience while maintaining brand guidelines
Manage CRM and distribution lists
Partner with Marketing and Communications Director on budgets, forecasting, and overall planning
Monitor KPI’s and generate performance reports to track success of campaigns via Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Meltwater and other tools
Assist with generating press releases (via PR software)
Assist with strategies for programmatic amplification and fundraising
Manage campaign timelines and cross functional deadlines
Pull data and generate performance reports
Manage mailing lists
Overseeing social media accounts and managing digital engagement
Managing the Org Calendar and Editorial Calendars
Manage Digital Drives
Identifying mission aligned influencers for potential collaboration
Assisting with event logistics
Traveling and working in person as determined by Director of Marketing and Communications or other TTO leadership
Abilities to work evenings and weekends as determined by organizational calendar
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experiences, and attributes :
A track record of success in audience engagement for event attendance and fundraising
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences
Exceptional project management skills with proven ability to plan and successfully manage simultaneous projects with cross functional components and firm deadlines
Proven experience executing successful email marketing campaigns (including segmentation and list management)
Great communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative working style
Self-starter who is comfortable with follow up and constructive feedback
Strategically minded and social media savvy
Strong relationship management skills
Strong designs skills favorable but not required
Experience with planning events is favorable but not required
Technical Requirements
Experience with Google Suite and / or Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite (including photoshop) and / or Canva
Proficiency in marketing and project management related software (Meltwater, MailChimp, Sprout Social, Monday.com)
Experience with CRMs (Salsa Engage, Popl, or other software)
Basic photo and video editing preferred but not required
Experience with a range of social media platforms including, but not limited to, Substack, YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta and Tik Tok.
Education / Experience
Demonstrated interest in The Theater Offensive’s Mission
Minimum two years of relevant experience in marketing, PR or social media
Experience in arts and or social justice nonprofit a plus
Start Date : November 1, 2025 (tentative)

Compensation : $55-65k commensurate with experience
