Job description$ 25-30 per hour Pay depends on a combination of education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview Tutor Rewards & Benefits : 1. Paraprofessionals support students across a variety of classroom environments. The environment could be a general education classroom, or a special education classroom (i.e. resource room or specialized classroom). Provide assistance with individualized programmed materials Work with teacher to develop classroom schedules Carry out instructional programs designated by the teacher Assist in collecting (observing, recording, collecting and charting) functional behavior assessment data on individual students Take anecdotal notes on student targeted behaviors Assist in preparation or production of instructional materials for special education teacher(s) Make informed decisions with the teacher about content specific accommodations, modifications, and adaptations Presume competence (with keeping expectations high) with as little prompting as possible Assist teacher with behavior management, and teach appropriate behavior Facilitate peer supports, friendships, and positive relationships Supervise students during non-instructional periods, as specified in IEP documents Partner with teachers and other service providers (i.e. Sole responsibility for a classroom Sole responsibility for a professional service Responsibility for preparing lesson plans and initiating instruction Responsibility for assigning grades to students Sole responsibility for supervising assemblies or Community-Based Instruction (CBI) trips Substituting for a certificated teacher (unless (s)he possesses the appropriate substitute teacher certificate and is hired by the district as a substitute teacher) Communication with parents / guardians regarding student progress You must be comfortable passing an IN-PERSON background check. Working with groups of students (without the support of a teacher or school site staff); Prepare area to start session May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas in school site; Take attendance and run lessons through HeyTutor Dashboard (if applicable); Document student progress with HeyTutor Dashboard; When requested by manager, facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments; Leading a group of students in the tutoring session, using curriculum and materials provided by the program; Creating an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in; Supporting students in making positive behavior choices; Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students; Daily clocking in and out of Deputy for shifts; and Any other duties that may be required by the Company, your manager and / or the School Site. Must be available between 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm Monday-Friday REQUIREMENTS : Must have prior experience working as a Behavior Interventionist Prior experience with students (great at working with kids) Comfortable working in a classroom setting and with special needs students Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us) Comfortable providing bathroom assistance / changing diapers Negative TB result HeyTutor recruits, employs, trains, compensates, and promotes regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disabilities, age, veteran status and other protected status as required by applicable law. - HeyTutor has partnered with a school district in Simi Valley and we're looking to hire paraprofessionals / para educators who can assist elementary and up to high school students during regular school hours.

Paraprofessionals will work with special education teachers to support the needs of students who have IEP. As research supports inclusion of students with disabilities, with guidance from federal legislation, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), students will be scheduled into classes based on their individual needs.
