Healthcare -Transactional Associate

A Top 200 AmLaw firm seeks an associate to join their Healthcare Practice for their Austin office.

The ideal candidate must have 3 or more years of broad-based healthcare or insurance experience for its dynamic and growing healthcare practice. The candidate must be familiar with federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including privacy and security (HIPAA, HITECH Act, Texas healthcare privacy laws), fraud and abuse (Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act), the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Insurance or managed care experience is beneficial.

The candidate must also have experience representing hospitals, physician groups, ancillary service providers and other investors in the healthcare industry. The candidate should have experience handling regulatory, compliance, and licensing issues for clients, as well as handling corporate transactional work including acquisitions, sales, and mergers. The ideal candidate would have experience advising clients on the organization and operation of providers or other healthcare ventures and drafting and negotiating corporate contracts such as general employment, physician recruitment, independent contractor, management, lease, and payor agreements.

The candidate must have excellent academic credentials and interpersonal skills.
