Who We Seek
BigID is seeking a customer-facing, Solution Engineering team leader to the West region. Candidates should be focused on creating a strong team environment while enabling each SE to grow and contribute to the overall success of the territory. A minimum of 3 years in a previous leadership role(s) is required. Specialty in a technical or consultative position around security, privacy or governance is a plus. BigID foundationally believes that leadership is driven by example : a "player-coach" mentality is non-negotiable.
We're looking for someone local to PDT for this role.
What you'll do :
Manage and mentor a team of 3-6 Sales EngineersHire and retain the best talent from across the industryRecognize and reward leadership, promoting team members along the defined career path.Gather insights from customers, determine product gaps and work closely with PM / R&D to improve our productsStay up to date with current and future market trends, competition and regulatory developmentsCollect and share knowledge within the teamDetermine training needs for overall team and individualsCoach other team members where possibleReport on group activities and trendsContinuously review and improve our POC process with the goal of reducing our time to close and overall successGenerate and / or review post POC summary reports. Share findings and take action where neededContinuously review and improve Demo flows / messagingExpand quality and quantity of all pre sales collateralUpdate demo env to showcase new product functionality, verticals and unique customer use casesMaintain content of RFP answer libraries to reduce response timesContribute to building Brand awarenessCoordinate our customer engagements closely with sales, support, servicesIdentify all potential areas of improvement (approach, process, execution) within presalesReview need for special tools or scripts that can make our life easier during POC'sWhat You'll Bring
5+ years of management experience10+ years industry experience in sales engineering or related experienceRelevant experience in one or more of the disciplines of data privacy, data security, or data governancePrior experience in selling software to Fortune 500Ability to work independently in a fast paced environmentPositive attitude, customer focus, and strong sense of ownership over customer resultsExcellent customer-facing communication and organization skillsAbility to describe complex technical concepts to diverse audiences : executives, business stakeholders and technology practitionersPassion for demonstrating solutions and ability to provide technical input during the sales processSome prior experience with one or more of the following : RDBMS systems, no-SQL data-stores (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB), Hadoop technologies (such HDFS, Hive, HBase), cloud technologies (AWS EMR, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, Azure file and blob storage, etc.)Prior experience with Identity and Access Management or Data Loss Prevention tools is a plusExperience with Linux or container frameworks (such as Docker) is a strong plusOur Values

Salaries will vary based on a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is just one component of our Compensation Philosophy.
