Schedule as follows : Sunday- 12 : 00am to 8 : 00am, Monday- 12 : 00am to 8 : 00am, Tuesday- off, Wednesday- off, Thursday - 7 : 00pm to 3 : 00am, Friday- 7 : 00pm to 3 : 00am, Saturday- 7 : 00pm to 3 : 00am
Summary
This position diligently upholds the standards, policies, and interests of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa and ensures the safety and security of guests and employees, as well as their property.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Be familiar with building and grounds layout and possess a working knowledge of all departments and outlets including closing procedures
- Monitor incoming and outgoing persons at the employee entrance / exit
- Be responsible for personal property inspections of employees exiting the hotel
- Maintain the Simplex Fire Alarm System and react and dispatch as necessary, (i.e. who to dispatch to which building for fire / intrusion alarm)
- Maintain communication with E.P.S. in Grand Rapids and Central Dispatch in Traverse City, both during alarms and in testing situations
- Control key issuing to outlets and departments
- Control key issuing to individual department personnel
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Onity key card system for purposes of key card issuance, minor adjustments to the guestroom locks, access control, investigative measures, etc.
- Issue and maintain control of employee lockers
- Issue employee parking stickers
- Maintain and update the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) master file
- Make and replace employee name tags
- Sell employee meal tickets per outlined procedure
- Maintain the snow removal call-in roster and contact individuals when needed
- Inventory all keys at the beginning of each shift
- Have a complete understanding of fire systems and building alarms including procedures for notification of Central Dispatch for police and fire departments
- Engage in routine patrols consisting of surveillance of property and personnel, remaining vigilant for crimes against persons and property
- Be familiar with and check the exterior buildings and satellite operations in the absence of the Outside Patrol Officer.
- Monitor the work environment while being mindful for indications of theft and pilferage, safety hazards and potential disturbances
- Respond and be prepared to effectively act in the event of any emergency as in the case of a fire, power outage, medical emergency, accident or disaster
- Actively engage in accident prevention and safety
- Maintain professional standards in attitudes toward and communication with guests and fellow employees
- Know and adhere to company policies and security department procedures, e.g. SOPs
- Act on behalf of the resort management in maintaining an orderly environment
- Write complete, concise and accurate reports for departmental, legal, and insurance purposes
- Transport guests / employees to clinics / hospitals, condominiums, etc.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Shift Commander or Director of Security & Risk Management
- Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort.
Education / Experience
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.Must have at least 1 year previous work experience in the security field, military service, law enforcement or related field.Must have a current, a valid driver's license and qualify for driving resort vehicles under company policy as mandated by our insurance company.CPR and AED training is highly preferred.Other Skills And Abilities
