We’re looking for a motivated professional eager to grow in the estimating field. As our Junior Electrical Estimator , you’ll assist in developing accurate bids, collaborating with senior estimators, and learning the full lifecycle of electrical construction estimating. You’ll gain hands-on experience with takeoffs, supplier pricing, and bid reviews while contributing to project success. Your role supports both the preconstruction and operations teams, ensuring accuracy, organization, and clear communication across every project.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Support the estimating team by assisting in project takeoffs, data entry, and proposal preparation. Gain hands-on experience working with senior estimators and contribute to bid accuracy, pricing, and analysis.

• Performs routine duties independently, using sound judgment, thoroughness, and competence.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all Electrical items incorporated in the scope from conceptual design through completed construction documents. Preliminary design work may be required to complete conceptual estimates.
• Daily use of Accubid Pro.
• Analyze existing site conditions and all contract documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to determine the required scope that is not already indicated.
• Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of electrical material packages and miscellaneous materials.
• Perform constructability analysis of project documents. Communicate design and constructability issues to the project team per the project contract.
• Ensure general conditions and general requirements items are adequately addressed in the estimate.
• Develop a value analysis by defining alternatives to the proposed Electrical systems, materials and equipment that are more cost-efficient.
• Act as a liaison with engineers, design consultants, MWE staff, client and owner representatives to resolve Electrical issues related to the project preconstruction efforts.
• Prepare estimates and proposals for all contract types including lump sum, GMP, Cost Plus, etc.
• Participate in estimate reviews with the design team and client.
• Lead project hand-off to Project Managers to ensure proper transfer of knowledge from estimate to preconstruction.
• Prepare scope requisitions for the bidding / procurement of Electrical systems; coordinate with fellow estimators to eliminate scope gaps and overlaps.
