ProHealth Physicians is looking for individuals who have a passion for patient care and are eager to learn the skills necessary to become a Medical Assistant. No prior healthcare experience is required.

Our Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is a 1.5-year, full-time program designed to equip you with the skills and experience necessary to become a Certified Medical Assistant. This program includes two phases : 10 weeks of classroom instruction followed by up to 15 months of hands-on training. As an apprentice, you'll be a full-time employee with access to comprehensive benefits while you complete the program, and you will be eligible for continued employment post-program. Training is provided at no cost and prepares you for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.

  • This is a full-time position starting in January 2026

The Medical Assistant Apprentice (MA) will perform patient-oriented procedures under the guidance of a clinician, RN, or LVN, to ensure safe and effective patient care. The MA will assist in minor medical and surgical tasks and handle a range of clerical and administrative duties related to patient assistance, within the scope of practice defined by our state and organization.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Exhibit exceptional behavior and communication skills reflecting a commitment to superior customer service and quality care.
  • Manage patient health information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Anticipate the clinician's needs and follow through on directives.
  • Check patient arrival status and escort them from waiting areas to exam rooms.
  • Obtain, record, and communicate vital signs and relevant patient information to the care team.
  • Perform various medical procedures and assist with medication administration as permitted by certification.
  • Conduct phlebotomy, process lab specimens, and maintain laboratory records appropriately.
  • Assist clinicians during procedures as needed.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all patient-related activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment areas as well as medical equipment.
  • Complete or assist with relevant forms and tracking processes.
  • Physical & Mental Requirements :

  • Capability to transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle items using up to 100 pounds of force.
  • Capability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate medical equipment and machinery.
  • Skill in exchanging information effectively through verbal and written communication.
  • Logical reasoning skills for problem-solving in various situations.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

    Required Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED at the time of application.
  • Basic Life Support Certification or willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to both classroom and assigned clinic locations.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered).
  • Compensation will vary based on local market conditions, education, experience, and certifications.
