POSITION TITLE : Forward Sioux Falls Program Director
Forward Sioux Falls is a unique, innovative program designed to grow and promote the economic health of Greater Sioux Falls.
Created through a joint venture between the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and the Sioux Falls Development Foundation, the program identifies and implements strategic initiatives to grow jobs, businesses and quality of life.
Since 1987, Forward Sioux Falls has raised more than $52 million for initiatives to enhance our region.
Forward Sioux Falls is about looking ahead to our future successes. Over the years, our programs have included recruiting a skilled workforce, expanding superior medical facilities, fostering educational opportunities, creating an inclusive and welcoming community and expanding innovative development parks for businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups.

POSITION SUMMARY PURPOSE
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure positive relations with Forward Sioux Falls investors through effective communication and interaction, as well as program administration and management.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
For administrative purposes, the position reports to the President & CEO of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and serves as an employee of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce.
Due to the unique dynamic of this position, the President & CEO of the Sioux Falls Development Foundation shares supervisory authority.
Along with the leaders of the Chamber and Development Foundation, the Forward Sioux Falls Program Director reports to the Joint Venture Management Committee (JVMC).
The JVMC is a volunteer committee comprised of fifteen (15) members : Five (5) members of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, five (5) members of the Sioux Falls Development Foundation Executive Committee, and five (5) members appointed at-large.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations or equivalent or extensive relevant experience preferred
- Effective liaison to business, government and nonprofit leaders
- Effective fundraising techniques and strategies
- Superior organizational skills
- Ability to use discretion when managing confidential matters
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with partners on regional, state and national levels
- Volunteer management
- Initiative-taking
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong computer skills
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Promote and advance the Forward Sioux Falls program utilizing the following methods :
- One-on-one relationships with investors
- Presentations
- External marketing
- Attendance and participation in Chamber / Development Foundation Boards, events, activities and committees
- e-newsletter management
- Investor briefing facilitation
- Strategic planning, coordination and organization of fundraising efforts
- Serve as primary staff liaison to FSF campaign management consultant and volunteers
- Provide planning and oversight for the Forward Sioux Falls Joint Venture Management Committee
- Facilitate grants when applicable
- Secure investor commitments and follow up annually.
- Contact and collect overdue accounts.
- Coordinate special events with Chamber and Development Foundation staff
- Pursue new investor opportunities
- Cascade ROI and program accomplishments to investors
- Serve as staff liaison for the Chamber Community Appeals Committee
PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS
- Previous and successful experience in public relations, development, fundraising, marketing and / or nonprofit organizations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with committees, ad hoc groups and coalitions
- Exceptional people skills
- Proven awareness and relationship formation with Sioux Falls area business leaders
