The Career Services Specialist provides direct, front-line customer support and workforce services at the PA CareerLink®. This position plays a key role in welcoming new customers, providing individual assistance with job search and resume development, and supporting enrolled Adult, Dislocated Worker, EARN and other participants with workforce preparation services such as mock interviews and OJT facilitation. The Career Services Specialist also supports employer engagement by promoting workforce programs and job opportunities collaboratively.
This is an on-site position, five days per week, to ensure full availability for walk-in and scheduled customer services.
Requirements :
Greet and assist customers as part of the PA CareerLink® welcome process.
Provide one-on-one support with job searching, resume writing, applications, and basic computer usage.
Meet individually with participants to assist with mock interviews, resume reviews, and referrals to OJT opportunities.
Support customers in utilizing the PA CareerLink® website and navigation of the Career Resource Area.
Promote OJT and other workforce development programs to employers and refer interested customers to available opportunities.
Refer customers to internal and external resources based on needs and program eligibility.
Represent the PA CareerLink® in a professional manner during phone calls, in-person meetings, events, and job fairs.
Accurately enter service details into CWDS and other systems as required.
Maintain updated knowledge of current services, tools, and policies.
Travel to other sites to participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
Maintain data reports as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to maintain consistent in-office presence five days per week.
Strong knowledge of PA CareerLink® services and labor market information.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and build rapport with diverse job seekers
Proficient in resume development, job search strategies, and use of relevant software platforms.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if required for outreach or events.
Must speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
Must comply with all organizational safety rules and policies.
