Our client, a renowned marketer specializing in family-owned farms and a leading advocate for high-quality, safe, and nutritious eggs, is currently seeking a Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs to join their team in Holland, Michigan.
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs include designing and implementing the poultry farm's compliance program and procedures, overseeing and managing product inventory, and establishing and maintaining required industry certifications.
RESPONSIBILITES :
- Develop collaborative relationships both within the organization and with external partners to maintain and improve animal welfare, food safety and quality, and environmental and occupational health
- Serve as liaison between regulatory authorities and egg producers to maintain and achieve necessary third-party and state / federal standards, certifications, and licensure requirements (SQF, HAACP, UEP, American Humane, HFAC, FDA)
- Serve as agent for Hamilton Eggs during USDA-AMS annual audit
- Provide office management and administrative leadership
- Provide accountability and support for egg processing plant Compliance Supervisors
- Maintain necessary documentation from vendors to meet egg processing plants’ SQF program requirements
- Maintain GS1 Company Prefix Certificate and all bar codes owned by Hamilton Eggs
- Cooperate with all personnel, policies, and programs in such a way as to always enhance the image of the company and employee
- Use good judgment and abilities to support the best interests of the company in all situations
- Cross train with Director of Sales and / or Account Manager for vacation relief
- Perform other related duties as assigned
DESIRED PROFILE :
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biology or related field; or comparable years’ experience, preferred
- 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in the feed or meat processing industries, preferred
- 2+ years’ experience as a supervisor
- Knowledge of humane handling SOPs, SPC, HACCP, USDA regulations, GMPs, Quality Assurance, and Food Microbiology
