A leading manufacturer of high-performance steel and metal products is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join their automation team at a facility near Pell City, AL. This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineer with strong Siemens S7-300 and S7-1500 experience, panel design skills, and a background in fast-paced industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Program and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs (S7-300 and S7-1500)

Support conversion of legacy systems to S7-1500

Design control panels using AutoCAD 2016

Develop and modify HMI systems using TIA Portal (V15.1–V18) and Simatic Manager

Lead start-up and commissioning activities

Read and interpret electrical schematics

Collaborate across departments to execute capital projects

Ensure all work complies with NEC and NFPA standards

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Siemens PLC programming (S7-300 and S7-1500) – must-have

TIA Portal V15.1–V18 and Simatic Manager proficiency

AutoCAD 2016 for electrical panel design

Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments

Familiar with VFDs, commissioning, and system troubleshooting

Knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience

Strong communication skills and a self-starter mentality

Candidates with only Allen-Bradley experience will not be considered.

Direct Hire | Onsite role (no remote)

Monday–Friday | 7 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM CST

Minimal travel (approx. 10% annually to sister plant)
