Position Summary
The Director of Operations & Strategic Initiatives provides organizational leadership and coordination across OIPA’s internal operations, governance functions, and strategic programs. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position ensures that all OIPA projects, partnerships, and committees operate efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with the Strategic Action Plan.
This role plays a key part in connecting the work of OIPA’s leadership, the Board of Commissioners, and the Community Advisory Committee (CAC). The Director will manage operational systems, facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, oversee project tracking, and support implementation of board-approved initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Organizational Management
- Oversee daily internal operations, administrative workflows, and team coordination.
- Support the Executive Director in developing and managing OIPA’s operational plans, policies, and reporting systems.
- Coordinate preparation of materials for Board of Commissioners meetings, including committee reports, project updates, and financial summaries.
- Manage vendor and consultant coordination to ensure timely deliverables and compliance with OIPA standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of staff.
Strategic Initiatives & Program Execution
Lead cross-departmental tracking of strategic goals and milestones tied to OIPA’s Strategic Action Plan.Support execution of major initiatives such as the Airport Business Park, Innovation District, and the Impact Fund Grant.Coordinate interagency and partner collaborations to ensure alignment across real estate, infrastructure, and community development projects.Assist with grant management, reporting, and funding compliance.Monitor project performance metrics and provide progress updates to the Executive Director and Finance Committee.Governance & CAC Support
Serve as a key administrative lead for the Community Advisory Committee (CAC), coordinating agendas, materials, scheduling, and meeting documentation.Track and report CAC feedback, recommendations, and follow-up items for the Executive Director and Board.Collaborate closely with the Compliance & Community Engagement Manager to ensure transparent communication between OIPA and the community.Maintain organized systems for public records, board actions, and committee reporting.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Management, Urban Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).4+ years of experience in operations, project management, or public agency administration.Demonstrated ability to coordinate across departments and manage multi-stakeholder projects.Strong knowledge of public governance, compliance processes, and program evaluation.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.Competencies

$115,000 – $145,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.Full benefits package including health, retirement, and professional development support.The initial round of interviews will start following October 16th
