About the Role :
Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join a leading manufacturing organization in the Cambridge area. This role plays a key part in ensuring employee safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence across all plant functions.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in manufacturing environments, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for building a strong safety-first culture. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on continuous improvement, compliance assurance, and employee well-being.
What You'll Do :
Lead environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives across the plant, ensuring alignment with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Manage key programs, including lockout / tagout, hazard communication, contractor safety, PPE, and incident prevention .
Oversee hazardous material shipping and handling (DOT, IATA, IMDG), ensuring strict compliance.
Coordinate environmental monitoring and industrial hygiene programs , including air and noise sampling and safety training.
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions to minimize risks and improve safety performance.
Prepare, maintain, and report accurate EHS compliance documentation and data.
Partner with leadership to embed safety practices into daily operations and strategic planning.
Lead audits, inspections, and emergency response preparedness for all plant operations.
What You Bring :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or a related engineering field.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in an EHS or Safety leadership capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in EHS compliance, hazardous materials management, and OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA standards.
Proven success driving cultural change, improving incident metrics, and influencing teams at all levels.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays when needed for plant support.
