Job Summary
Logan Instruments is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Service Engineer to join our growing technical support team. In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our pharmaceutical testing equipment at client sites. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, hands-on experience, and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Install, calibrate, and validate laboratory testing instruments, including dissolution testers and transdermal systems.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues on-site and remotely.
Perform preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Provide professional technical support and guidance to customers via phone, email, or on-site visits.
Accurately document service activities, including visit reports, maintenance logs, and calibration records.
Deliver end-user training to ensure proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
Collaborate with the R&D and sales teams to relay customer feedback and recommend product or process improvements.
Manage service logistics, including spare parts inventory, tools, and scheduling.
Travel frequently to customer locations across the U.S. and occasionally internationally (25–50% travel required).
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred but not required).
1–3 years of field service experience, ideally within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, automation systems, and basic electronics.
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Must be able to work independently, manage travel schedules, and adapt to various technical challenges.
