Overview : This full-time night shift role requires a certified Paramedic to provide advanced life support and patient transport services within a busy metropolitan ambulance service in the Southeastern United States region. The position involves responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, delivering compassionate patient care, and ensuring thorough documentation of treatments and billing information.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform patient care and transport duties in accordance with EMT-P certification and local medical protocols.
- Maintain and restock ambulance equipment, ensuring readiness and reporting any deficiencies.
- Respond promptly to calls, providing emergency medical care including airway management, bleeding control, splinting, and other ALS procedures.
- Drive ambulance safely and efficiently, adhering to best driving practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain certifications and skills.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas and equipment.
Education and Certifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Current Paramedic certification as recognized by the state EMS authority.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Experience :
Preferred experience with advanced life support services.At least one year of field EMS, rescue, or related experience is advantageous.Skills and Abilities :
Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, and pre-hospital care equipment.Ability to remain calm and professional under high-stress situations.Excellent interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.Physical capability to lift and move patients up to 150 pounds with assistance.Familiarity with regional geography and healthcare facilities in the Southeastern U.S.Physical Requirements : Good speech and hearing acuity, visual observation skills, and physical mobility to operate emergency vehicles and perform rescue tasks.
