Description
Summary :
Using automated Materials Management Systems, verifies and performs receiving process communication to Accounting for all receipts of clinical supplies and all Danbury Hospital vendor purchase orders. Direct liaison between vendor and department generating the purchase order. Directly involved with the procurement and delivery of clinical supplies, non-par supplies, Fed X, UPS, (including equipment and linen replenishment) and archive storage and delivery.
Responsibilities :
1. Using various Lawson Receiving screens, performs receiving confirmation. Performs shipping function using vendor supplied manifest systems.
2. Participates in development and implementation of short, medium and long range plans regarding purchasing and receiving issues.
3. Interfaces and requires a high degree of teamwork within materials management, clinical areas, support departments and all off-site locations pertaining to issues on receiving of purchase orders.
4. Responsible for verifying, receiving and storage for all hospital owned Lawson products.
5. Performs data entry maintenance transactions, retrieval and delivery in archive material storage area.
6. Maintains inventories for all clinical departments using Telxons. Serves as a mentor in providing instruction and training to new employees and students.
7. Prepares, documents and presents to Pony Express completed shipping requests going to 25 off-sites.
8. Performs cycle counts and is major player in the annual physical inventory.
9. Researches and resolves issues regarding back orders and product returns in order to provide superior customer service.
10. Organizes the hospital receiving dock and maintains order to ensure continuity of operations, safety and a clean work environment.
11. Delivers emergency "stat" supply requests from the warehouse to Danbury Hospital user by driving hospital vehicle.
12. Achieves the organization�s established expectations regarding quality service and team work in support of customers and their service needs.
13. Picks up and delivers supplies, equipment, materials, mail, business and finance materials, banking requirements, specimens and other related items in accordance with a required schedule, work assignment methodology or assignment of responsibilities through management.
14. Ensures through actions or by communication to management the proper working order and responsibility for safe and compliant operation of hospital vehicles including but not limited to repairs, maintenance, cleanliness, tire replacement, registration, emissions, insurance, other related activities, etc.
15.Performs vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
16. Documents activities in accordance with management requirements.
17. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education : HS GRAD / EQUIVALENT
Other Information :
Required : Requires knowledge of automated Warehouse Materials Management Systems, accounting process, inventory control techniques and supply distribution methods. Literacy in Outlook, Word, Exel required.
Minimum Experience : five years
Valid CT or NY Driver�s License (with clean driving record)
Desired : Knowledge of healthcare administration or related field of study preferred. Working knowledge of Lawson computer system preferred.
