WHY VEIR?

Giving everyone in the world access to clean, reliable, affordable energy will require substantial expansion of global electricity transmission networks.

VEIR is developing a new generation of High Temperature Superconductor (HTS)-based transmission lines, enabling long distance, reliable, low loss, cost-effective power transfer in far smaller right-of-ways.

VEIR's innovations overcome the main barriers to transmission expansion, enabling the world to access the very lowest cost renewable power.

The Role :

The VP of Commercial Operations and Global Projects will drive the Company's revenue and profitability results by leading revenue pursuits (bids and proposals, solicit funding sources), value and cost development (project execution optimization, estimating and subcontractor solicitations), global projects and engage with application engineering professionals ( to advance to the prospects through the sales process.)

  • A skilled estimator and budget manager , proficient in building estimates, budgets, and pro forma projections, and adeptly steering operations to align with those projections.
  • Collaborative , a team player, thriving in dynamic, team-oriented environments where collective efforts drive success.
  • A self-starter , motivated and directed, capable of navigating tasks with minimal supervision.

You Will :

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will propel the Company's revenue and profitability results by leading bids, and proposals to a successful award.

This includes working with our consultant to identify, solicit, and submit for non-dilutive funding sources across domestic and international markets.

Drive value and cost development efforts to create profitable and cost-competitive solutions utilizing project execution optimization, and total installed cost project estimation.

Additionally, engage with subcontractors to obtain quotes to support the Company's service offering (product sales, furnish and erect, EPC, etc.)

Own the emerging global project portfolio. Act as point person dealing with global customers (Utilities and transmission developers, etc.

Build relationships with global strategic partners and customers.

  • Collaborate closely with application engineering professionals to advance prospects through the sales process. Liaise with the technical team on product development and specifications and partner EPC organizations.
  • Hire, train, and lead the future direct reports and future team members.
  • Willingness to travel as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications :

  • BS in Project Management, Construction Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in pursuits, estimating, and project controls in transmission, either with utilities, merchant transmission, or generation developers
  • Ability to build and maintain a detailed understanding of VEIR technology including design specifications and constraints
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate those for the Product and Technical teams
  • A strong command of business software, including MS Office and CRM platforms like Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel and spend significant time on the road

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Direct experience developing complex domestic and international pursuits, bids, and proposals.
  • Direct experience with pursuing work with data center clients and commercial construction approaches
  • Direct experience with an EPC contractor in the utility space and knowledge of the execution of new transmission projects.
