Substance Abuse Services Supervisor (SAIOP, SACOT & DWI Services)

Location : Concord, NC (In-Person Required)

Schedule : Monday–Thursday, 10 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM | Friday reserved for DWI services, compliance, or flex time as needed

Employment Type : W-2 Employee | Part-Time to Full-Time as program grows

Compensation :

  • Base Pay : $30–$32 / hr for program supervision, compliance, and admin duties (guaranteed hours each week).
  • Service Pay : $38–$45 / hr for direct clinical services (groups, DWI classes, assessments).
  • Average earnings : $49,000–$55,000 annually at ~30 hrs / week | Expands with census.

About the Role

TSG Behavioral Health & Community Services is seeking a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) to supervise and lead our SAIOP (Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program), SACOT (Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment), and DWI Services .

This role blends leadership, compliance, and direct service delivery . You’ll provide the licensed on-site presence required by Medicaid, oversee program compliance, ensure staff follow clinical and documentation standards, and step in to facilitate groups or DWI services as needed.

The position is structured to ensure you are paid fairly for both leadership duties and direct services while protecting program sustainability as census grows.

Key Responsibilities :

Program Leadership & Compliance :

  • Maintain required on-site presence : SAIOP (≥50% of hours), SACOT (≥90% of hours).
  • Oversee program operations, group schedules, and client flow.
  • Ensure compliance with NC Medicaid Clinical Coverage Policies and NC Administrative Code for DWI services.
  • Clinical Oversight & Supervision :

  • Provide weekly check-ins and group supervision for program staff.
  • Review clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Train and onboard new staff in program standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Direct Services (Billable) :

  • Facilitate SAIOP / SACOT therapy and psychoeducational groups as needed.
  • Deliver DWI assessments and education classes in compliance with state requirements.
  • Provide individual or crisis sessions as assigned.
  • Documentation & Reporting :

  • Approve treatment plans, reauthorizations, and discharges.
  • Conduct chart audits and prepare for audits / reviews.
  • Manage incident reporting and corrective action follow-up.
  • Referral & Outreach Support :

  • Build and maintain referral relationships with courts, probation officers, and providers.
  • Support client admissions and retention to stabilize census.
  • Sample Weekly Schedule :

    Here’s what a typical week may look like :

  • Monday–Wednesday (10 : 30–5 : 00) : On-site for SAIOP / SACOT supervision, group coverage, and documentation review.
  • Thursday (10 : 30–5 : 00) : Staff supervision meetings, compliance checks, program operations.
  • Friday (Flex / As Needed) : Deliver or oversee DWI classes, complete compliance documentation, or use for administrative flex time.
  • Qualifications :

  • Active LCAS license in North Carolina (required).
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in substance use treatment (supervisory experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of NC Medicaid service definitions (SAIOP, SACOT) and DWI requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
