Job Overview :

4P Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Protection & Control (P&C) Field Services Technician to join our team in Forest Park, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for commissioning, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting protective relaying, control systems, and communication equipment associated with substation and transmission power lines. This position offers hands-on field experience, and the successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the completion of projects safely, efficiently, and within schedule.

Job Responsibilities :

• Commissioning and Maintenance : Commission, test, maintain, and troubleshoot protective relays, control systems, and communication equipment associated with substations and transmission power lines.
• Project Coordination : Manage construction projects and substation routines, ensuring timely completion with no service interruptions. Manage clearances effectively to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets.
• Outage Coordination : Coordinate substation outages and commissioning activities with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Respond to trouble calls as needed.
• Safety and Quality : Develop and apply safe work practices to prevent safety and operational incidents. Follow formal written requirements and conduct job briefings to identify and mitigate risks.
• Technical Expertise : Develop and share knowledge in 3-phase power, relaying, SCADA, and substation testing techniques with team members and stakeholders.
• Emergency Response : Isolate hazards and damaged equipment during emergencies to restore service safely and efficiently.
