ER RN Job Details

Location : Harvey, IL 60426 – Convenient access to Chicago healthcare jobs, culture, dining, and entertainment in a welcoming suburban community.

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Unit : Emergency Department (ED)

Shift : Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570 - $1610

Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Charting System : Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (required at time of submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience

Experience in an urban, Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department required

Teaching hospital experience preferred

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required

TNCC and CPI certifications strongly preferred

Ability to float to other clinical units as needed

COVID-19 vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Passing EKG strip test required at orientation

Two professional references required (one from direct supervisor / manager)

Maximum 7 days of requested time off during contract

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages in a busy ED

Perform triage, assessment, and rapid interventions for trauma, medical, and behavioral emergencies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Accurately document patient care using Epic charting system

Participate in ongoing education and training in a teaching hospital environment

Float to other nursing units as required to support patient care needs

Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
