Trajan Wealth is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Estate Planning firm dedicated to providing clients with personalized financial strategies. This role will be central in calculating, maintaining, and reporting investment performance based on custodian data. The Performance Analyst will work closely with both the investment team and the executive leadership to design, maintain, and enhance a composite performance process, and ensure that our performance reporting is accurate, reliable, and aligned with strategic goals .
Note : This role would be 5 days onsite at the Scottsdale Corporate Office.
Duties and responsibilities
- Calculate and maintain portfolio performance using custodian data, including time-weighted returns, trailing returns, and linked-daily factor methods.
- Develop and sustain the firm's composite performance process (defining composites, ensuring consistency across portfolios, aligning with best practices).
- Build, maintain, and enhance performance dashboards and reports using Sigma , with underlying data stored in Snowflake and Supabase .
- Verify, reconcile, and troubleshoot performance data : identify discrepancies between internal data and custodian / third-party sources; resolve differences.
- Document performance methodologies, definitions, and standards (e.g. return conventions, composite inclusion / exclusion).
- Provide performance insight and analysis to investment team members and executives : prepare periodic performance reports, support decision making.
- Suggest and implement process improvements or automation in performance calculations and report generation.
- Assist with data governance around performance metrics : ensure accurate lineage, definitions, and auditability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.5-7 years of relevant experience in performance analysis, investment operations, or a closely related role.Strong understanding of performance concepts : time-weighted returns, trailing returns, composite performance, linked daily factors.Familiarity in SQL (or strong query skills in relational databases) for extracting data; experience with Snowflake or similar is a plus.Comfortable working with BI / reporting tools such as Sigma ; familiarity with Supabase or other cloud-hosted data platforms also helpful.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle reconciliation tasks.Good communicator; able to explain technical / quantitative matters to non-technical stakeholders (investment team, executives).Self-starter; able to work in a fast-paced environment; proactive mindset toward improving processes.Nice to Have
Familiarity with regulatory or industry standards for performance reporting (e.g., GIPS®).Exposure to scripting or data transformation tools (Python, dbt, etc.).Prior experience working with composites / investment performance systems or software.Benefits
