Job Description
The Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goals.
Assist in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. Monitors and examines patients prior to procedures, as well as during and after procedure care. Administers medications including conscious sedation and assists the medical team as needed during the procedure. Responsible to all patient's documentations and procedure notes, ensuring all documentation are completed correctly and in timely manner.
