We’re partnering with a school district in Cook County, IL to hire a dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teacher to support a therapeutic middle school classroom for the remainder of the school year. This is a full-time, in-person role working with students who have behavioral, sensory, and communication needs—and requires experience in similar settings.

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with a small group of middle school students in a therapeutic environment. You’ll collaborate with a supportive school team to deliver individualized instruction, foster engagement, and create a safe, inclusive classroom environment tailored to each student’s needs.

LBS1 Special Education Teaching Certification and experience in therapeutic or self-contained classrooms is required.

Position Details :

• Location : Cook County, IL
• Schedule : Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 : 30 am–3 : 30 pm
• Duration : Now – June 2, 2026
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours : 32
• Caseload / Student Grade : 7 students, 6th–8th grade

Responsibilities :

Provide individualized instruction in a co-teaching environment.

Support students with diverse learning needs through differentiated instruction.

Implement and track progress on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Manage classroom behavior in a supportive way.

Collaborate with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams.

Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.

Special Education Teaching Certification in Illinois.

Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement.

Experience in special education or inclusive classroom settings.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
