What Youll Be Doing Lead the development of tools and systems that help customers seamlessly migrate to DigitalOceans cloud platform. Define the engineering roadmap for the migration experience, balancing short-term needs with long-term platform goals. Partner cross-functionally with support, customer success, and product teams to understand customer challenges and prioritize the right solutions. Own team health and deliverycreating clarity around goals, fostering psychological safety, and setting high technical standards. Establish and track success metrics to ensure engineering efforts are delivering measurable customer and business value. Champion operational excellence, scalable architecture, and a developer-first mindset. What Well Expect From You 12 years of software engineering experience. 5 years in engineering leadership roles. A proven track record of delivering complex backend or infrastructure products, ideally related to migrations or cloud services. Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and systems design. Ability to balance engineering trade-offs with customer and business impact. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego leadership style. Experience building and growing high-performing, diverse engineering teams.
