Floor Supervisor – Wayward Fare

Position Summary
The Floor Supervisor at Wayward Fare is responsible for overseeing all aspects of front-of-house operations during service. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, smooth service flow, and strong communication between the FOH and BOH teams. The Floor Supervisor acts as a leader, coach, and problem solver, supporting the staff while protecting the restaurant’s standards of hospitality, professionalism, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
Guest Experience
Lead the floor during service to ensure warm, attentive, and professional hospitality at all times.
Respond promptly and graciously to guest concerns, complaints, or special requests.
Maintain presence on the floor, actively engaging with guests to build rapport and loyalty.
Staff Leadership & Training
Supervise FOH staff including hosts, servers, bartenders, and backwaiters during shifts.
Support onboarding, training, and coaching of team members to uphold Wayward Fare’s service standards.
Provide clear direction, assign floor sections, and monitor staff performance.
Promote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork across the FOH team.
Operations & Service Flow
Manage daily floor operations including opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures.
Ensure timing, pacing, and coordination of food and beverage service with the kitchen.
Oversee reservation flow, guest seating, and table management to maximize efficiency.
Monitor cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the dining room and service areas.
Administration & Compliance
Handle comps, voids, and discounts in alignment with restaurant policy.
Track and report service issues, staff performance notes, and guest feedback to management.
Support inventory management of FOH supplies.
Enforce company policies including cell phone use, appearance standards, and workplace conduct.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a supervisory or floor management role in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with POS systems (e.g., Toast, Aloha, Micros) and reservation platforms (e.g., Resy, OpenTable).
