Engineering Manager
Meta is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team in Menlo Park, CA or remotely in the US. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager will :
- Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
- Serve as a highly technical and effective people manager and SME in a specific domain.
- Lead teams to deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in ambiguous or high-impact areas.
- Work with team and partners to define and influence strategy.
- Work on issues requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
- Drive roadmap creation and execution.
- Collaborate with various functions to drive engineering initiatives and impact at the organizational level.
- Participate in technical design.
- Measure the impact of the team and set clear expectations and goals.
- Manage activities of two or more sections or departments, supervising costs, methods, and staffing.
- Work effectively with partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution, and prioritization.
- Design end-to-end core infra, backend software components for VR System Diagnostic solutions.
- Design and implement developer facing tooling to diagnose problems in OS and system level components.
- Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate should have :
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and four years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.Management experience with technical teams, or experience as a technical lead or project manager.Building products including Linux Kernel and ARM based SoCs.Coding skills in one of the following : C++, Java, or ARM assembly.Unix / Linux.End-to-end design of apps and services in an OS to support a variety of sensors.Analyzing and improving performance of OS services and components.Developing scalable, high performance, high throughput components and services for the OS.Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems in Bootloader, Kernel, and low-level services.Coordinating large-scale, cross-functional efforts that span different teams.Developing and managing requirements, and making data-driven decisions.Leading strategic implementation and planning for risk and growth.Compensation
$280,236 / year to $290,180 / year + bonus + equity + benefits
