A client is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support a large federal contract. Below are the key day to day responsibilities :
Evaluate cloud-native architectures and containerized workloads to recommend improvements, optimize Kubernetes deployments, and enhance platform engineering practices across multi-cloud environments.
Conduct technical reviews of CI / CD pipelines (GitLab preferred), infrastructure-as-code templates, and system-level test results to ensure compliance with performance, security, and reliability standards.
Author and maintain technical documentation detailing cloud infrastructure specifications, Kubernetes cluster configurations, Git workflows, and DevSecOps implementation strategies. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders using engineering economics principles to support decision-making.
Develop and execute validation procedures for cloud platforms, including automated testing frameworks, security scanning tools, and performance benchmarks. Analyze results to guide continuous improvement of cloud services and container orchestration.
Provide hands-on engineering support and training across the full lifecycle of cloud initiatives, including infrastructure provisioning, container orchestration, CI / CD automation, security hardening, monitoring, and operational oversight.
The ideal candidate will be in the hourly range of $55-65 / hr
