Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift with 3x12 hour shifts.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while ensuring patient and employee safety is prioritized.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration.
  • Provide timely patient status updates for team conferences.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct care.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
  • Communicate important patient status changes among care providers.
  • Provide guidance and training to ancillary nursing staff.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and manage supply needs.
  • Assume charge responsibility as needed following orientation.
  • Engage in professional development through education and self-study.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required before the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required before the first shift (specific locations only).
  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
  • ICU experience is highly desired.
