As the Family Room Manager for Guest Services, you'll create an uplifting atmosphere, inspire and coordinate incredible volunteers, and work hand-in-hand with hospital social workers and care teams to ensure families feel valued, secure, and truly supported. Day in the Life in a RMHC Family Room
- Set a warm tone : Greet every guest with genuine warmth and provide support throughout their visit, making them feel at home.
- Lead your team : Inspire and support part-time staff and volunteers in the Family Room-it makes a big difference!
- Coordinate volunteers : Collaborate with the Volunteer and Culinary Managers to effectively place, train, and schedule volunteers for our guests' needs.
- Manage operations : Handle check-in and check-out smoothly, keeping family records organized and following policies.
- Resolve concerns : Address guest issues quickly, maintaining a calm and safe environment.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere : Keep the space clean, stocked, and accessible, ensuring a comforting environment.
- Foster partnerships : Build relationships with hospital departments and social workers to address care and health needs.
- Own the essentials : Ensure household supplies are stocked and the Family Room is always ready for families in need.
What You Will Bring
A solid background with 2-3 years of practical experience in hospitality or guest services, demonstrating the ability to create welcoming and supportive environments.Prior experience in a nonprofit organization is highly preferred, as it offers valuable insights into community engagement and service-focused initiatives.Building strong interpersonal relationships rooted in respect and understanding involves genuinely attending to the needs and feelings of others, fostering trust, and promoting a collaborative work culture.
