Hernando Animal Clinic and Surgery Center is excited to announce that we’ve moved into our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility right here in Hernando, MS! We’re looking for a Full-Time Kennel Technician to join our compassionate, dedicated veterinary team.

At Hernando Animal Clinic and Surgery Center , we provide exceptional veterinary care to the pets of DeSoto County and the surrounding communities. Our team offers a full range of services including preventive care, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics—all delivered with compassion and excellence.

Hours of Operation :

Monday – Friday : 7 : 30 AM – 5 : 30 PM
Saturday : 8 : 00 AM – 12 : 00 PM
Sunday : Closed

The Kennel Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of all animals in our care. This position is perfect for individuals who love animals, enjoy working in a team environment, and take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and positive atmosphere.

You’ll work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and client service representatives to provide the highest level of care and service.

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily care and attention to dogs, cats, and other pets, including feeding, watering, bathing, and exercising.

Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in all kennel, hospital, and boarding areas.

Observe animals for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report changes in behavior or condition to veterinary staff promptly.

Assist with restraining and handling animals safely during treatments, exams, and grooming.

Support veterinary technicians and assistants as needed during patient care.

Clean cages, runs, and hospital equipment using proper sanitation procedures.

Maintain accurate feeding, medication, and care records for all boarding and hospitalized animals.

Provide excellent customer service by treating clients and their pets with respect, compassion, and professionalism.

Assist with laundry, inventory, and general hospital maintenance to ensure smooth daily operations.

Uphold hospital safety protocols and infection control standards.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Prior experience in animal care, veterinary, kennel, or grooming environments strongly preferred.

Comfortable handling animals of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.

Compassionate, patient, and attentive to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment .

Reliable, punctual, and willing to assist wherever needed.

Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.

Weekend and holiday availability may occasionally be required.
