POSITION SUMMARY :
Provide instruction and guidance for students attending Targeted Services Summer School.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Plan and conduct physical education instruction for students entering grades 1-5.
- Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Incorporate SEL curriculum into daily instruction.
- Utilize SeeSaw as a platform for student learning and family engagement.
- Support site coordinators with the supervision of students during arrival and dismissal.
- Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
- Communicate with families to share information about program content and student progress.
- Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, site coordinators, and extended learning coordinator in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic concerns.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Guide and counsel students with adjustment and / or academic issues or special academic interests.
- Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.
- Other duties as assigned
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) :
Required :
- Current Minnesota Teaching License in K-12 Physical Education.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm to support students through innovative instruction.
- Demonstrated collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
