Job Description :
U.S. Got People is seeking a qualified Optometrist to provide full-time services to active duty service members, veterans, and their families at the Ophthalmology and Optometry Clinics located at Naval Hospital Jacksonville and Naval Branch Health Clinic Jacksonville, Florida.
Position Overview :
Schedule :Naval Hospital Jacksonville : 24 / 7 coverage, flexible shifts
- Naval Branch Health Clinic : Monday – Friday, 6 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM
- Pay & Benefits : Competitive rate

Minimum Qualifications :
- Degree : Doctor of Optometry from an accredited institution
- Certifications : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Experience : Minimum of 12 months experience in the last 36 months as an optometrist in a hospital or clinical setting performing advanced procedures, including refractive surgery care
- Board Certification : Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry
- Licensure : Hold a current, unrestricted therapeutic optometry license
Immunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain) :
- Hepatitis B (series and titer)
- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- TB (Tuberculosis) test
- Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
- COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnose routine and complex visual or ocular conditions
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for refractive procedures, including LASIK, PRK, and ICL
- Perform contact lens fittings, prescribe corrective lenses, and implement vision therapy
- Identify and manage binocular vision disorders and neuromuscular impairments
- Deliver emergency eye care services, including treatment of trauma or acute pathology
- Promote preventive care through education on eye health, hygiene, and protective measures
- Refer patients requiring specialized or surgical intervention to appropriate providers
- Accurately document patient history, clinical findings, medication use, and treatments
- Participate in interdisciplinary patient care planning, case reviews, and medical board evaluations
- Assist with coordination and review of Limited Duty (LIMDU) boards for active-duty personnel
- Provide consultation and education to staff and community on eye health and visual conditions
