Head of School - Monroe Christian School
The Head of School is responsible for Monroe Christian School’s overall leadership : organizational, operational, financial, and administrative. This role ensures the school operates with excellence, transparency, and remains in alignment with its Christian mission, values, and culture.

- Committed Christian, Christ-centered faith, active in the life and community of a church
- Ability to support the spiritual mission of the school, responding to God’s call to serve
and lead at Monroe Christian School
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skillsExperience working with a board or governance structure preferredBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education Leadership, Nonprofit Management,or related field
A Master’s degree is preferredTeaching or education experience is preferred5 years of effective experience in school or business administration, leadership, management,and / or operations
Relevant experience may count toward education requirementsStrong financial acumen and understanding of nonprofit budgetingKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & Financial Leadership
Lead annual strategic, business, and financial planning, including budgeting and financialforecasting with a plan and ability to implement
Review and report on financial statements and key performance indicatorsEnsure sound stewardship of school resources in partnership with Board of DirectorsOperations & Compliance
Lead the development of strategic plans and annual goals that reflect the school’s missionOversee technology resources and staff to ensure effective infrastructure for learningMaintain written policies and procedures across key departments (e.g., finance, HR, facilities)Ensure school-wide compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsHuman Resources & Staff Culture
Support employee relations, professional culture, and Christ-centered leadership developmentOversee hiring processes, on-boarding, evaluation, and off-boarding proceduresEnsure compensation and benefits programs are competitive and sustainableLead risk management, insurance coverage, and safety planningFacilities & Enrollment Management
Manage facility maintenance, safety, and long-term campus planningCollaborate with admissions / marketing teams to align enrollment growth with capacityOversee the daily operations to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff; ability to connect with students, families, staff, and communityBoard / Community Relations & Development Work
Serve as the liaison to the Board of Directors, providing regular updates and strategic counselRepresent the school in community partnerships, accreditation visits, and public relations with effective communication skills and emotional intelligenceUphold, engage, and support the values and vision of MCS in all operational decisions and actions, always mindful of the context, community, and culture of Monroe and western WashingtonWork closely with the Director of Development to set fundraising goals, establish a growth plan, and contribute to the execution of all major capital campaignsADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
As MCS continues to grow and evolve, additional responsibilities may be required to meetemerging needs and opportunities in alignment with the school's mission and board expectations
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, salaried position. Range is $90,000-$120,000 dependingon experience. Competitive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and 403(B).
