Job Summary :
Provide direct patient care within a busy Emergency Department setting, ensuring clear communication among patients, families, medical staff, and departmental teams. Support physicians and nursing staff by implementing their directions and managing clerical responsibilities such as answering phones, relaying messages, maintaining records, and guiding visitors. Assist with patient care and supply management as needed.
Essential Functions :
- Effectively communicate with charge nurses, colleagues, and physicians to coordinate patient care.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to patient needs.
- Transport specimens promptly to the laboratory.
- Order and manage supplies responsibly, contributing to cost containment through careful ordering and conservation.
- Maintain flexibility, organization, and composure in high-pressure situations.
- Treat patients and their families with respect, dignity, and professionalism, providing clear explanations and reassurance.
Education and Experience Requirements :
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.Active state Nursing Assistant license or EMT certification is mandatory.Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or EMT is required.Preferred : At least one year of experience working in an Emergency Department hospital environment.Professional Requirements :
