Job Title : Aircraft Assembly - Lay Up / Plycut

Job Description

Join our team in building composite parts with precision and expertise. This role involves using hand layup techniques and a laser system to ensure accurate ply placement. You will be responsible for smoothing layers, vacuum bagging, and performing in-process inspections. Your skills in using precision measuring tools and recording accurate data are essential.

Responsibilities

• Build composite parts using hand layup techniques.
• Utilize laser systems for precise ply placement.
• Fit and smooth layers to eliminate wrinkles, air pockets, and voids.
• Vacuum bag parts for various temperature conditions.
• Conduct in-process inspections and read precision measuring tools.
• Record time worked accurately using Epicor.
• Inspect parts visually before vacuum bagging and perform leak tests.
• Mark identifying information on parts and handle associated paperwork.
• Use chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required.
• Clean and prepare bond tools, unbag and demold parts, and maintain cleanliness.
• Adhere to safety and security procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Adapt to changes and manage competing demands effectively.

Work Environment

Work in a large, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in teams of 3-5. Dress code is business casual. Opportunities are available on both 1st and 2nd shifts from Monday to Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LADSON, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00 / hr.
