Position Summary :
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides assistance and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both day-habilitation and home settings. The ideal candidate will focus on quality care, meaningful daily activities, and vocational services. This position works as part of a team to ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of each individual served.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meals, and mobility, as needed per individual plans.
Encourage and support community integration, socialization, and participation in recreational and vocational activities.
Document services and progress notes accurately and timely, in compliance with DODD requirements.
Attend required trainings, workshops, and team meetings to enhance knowledge, skills, and compliance with DODD standards.
Qualifications :
Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and insured personal vehicle meeting organizational requirements.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements :
Work Environment :
Services may be provided in day-habilitation centers or inside clients' private homes.
Potential exposure to household environments, bodily fluids, cleaning agents, and varying temperatures.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) :
May include gloves, masks, eye / face protection, and disposable coverings as needed for client care.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, twist, push, and pull.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist clients with transfers or mobility as required.
Visual and hearing acuity required.
Travel Requirements :
Limited travel may be necessary to meet client care needs.
All employees are required to pass a background check through Ohio BCI as well as an initial drug screen prior to employment.
