Construction - Engineering Manager - MEP - Springfield, MA
Job Description
The Engineering Manager is responsible for :
- Reporting into the Director of Construction
- Leading design operations and overseeing designers, enhancing the company's design process and delivering top-tier designs
- Staying current with trends and technologies in system design, educating staff accordingly
- Training and empowering designers to independently develop innovative design ideas and applications
- Executing comprehensive designs for design-build / design-assist projects, ensuring profitability, timely completion, and fulfilment of contractual obligations
- Collaborating with the design-build team on estimates and working with the project management team to develop value engineering ideas, building respect among peers, building owners, construction managers, and engineers

The Successful Applicant
The right candidate has the following qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of HVAC or Plumbing Design Management experience
- Experience working on Academic, Lab / Lifescience, and Healthcare projects with a Mechanical Contractor (or engineering firm)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit
- Expertise in codes, industry standards, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Understanding of how projects are handled and offer support and ideas to increase profit on a given project
- Ability and personality to build rapport with clients
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
