A Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipment and delivery of goods; along with overseeing the entire back half of the plant : K-location (warehouse), packing, shipping and material handler(s) personnel and activities.
The job entails numerous objectives pertaining to inventory, establishing and maintaining communication with all internal personnel, outside suppliers, brokers, carriers, and others involved in the shipping / staging / packing and delivery of Brugola product.
The supervisor will also review and improve processes for overall MP&L activity to support methods and policies ensuring most efficient and economical movement of all materials in and out of the plant.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that goods are shipped and delivered in a timely manner and that the inventory levels are sufficiently maintained.
- Oversee transportation of goods, ensuring material arrives safely, packed, staged and shipped on time.
- Arrange product pickups and deliveries with third party transportation companies accordingly.
- Conduct cost analysis of several transportation companies in order to select a more cost-effective option and are also able to manage the reception and storage of shipment.
- Coordinate shipment with outside agencies (3rd Party vendors) for patching, plating, manual sorting, etc.
- Generate internal management reports to track performance and costs related to inventory, transportation, cost savings, production and any KPI related metrics.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to oversee operations across 2 or 3 shifts of a 24hr-production cycle.
