JOB OVERVIEW :
The Restaurant Reservations Manager serves as the refined host and guiding presence of the restaurant, ensuring an exceptional guest journey from arrival to farewell. This role leads door operations during service, harmonizing the efforts of the managers and service teams to deliver an atmosphere of effortless elegance and attentive hospitality. This role is also responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant reservations team to ensure seamless guest service, accurate booking management and serves as a point of escalation for guest concerns, ensures compliance with policies.
ESSENTIALS JOB FUNCTIONS :
Guest Experience
- Extend a warm, gracious welcome to every guest.
- Manage reservations, seating, and guest flow to optimize service pace and ambiance.
- Anticipate guest needs and accommodate special requests with discretion.
- Cultivate relationships with returning patrons and VIP guests to foster loyalty.
- Ensure the reservations and host team actively uses guest names, preferences, and service notes to personalize interactions.
- Monitor guest feedback channels, track patterns, and communicate trends to management
Service Leadership
Supervise and support the host throughout service.Conduct pre-service briefings with F&B Managers to share menu highlights, guest notes, and service priorities.Ensure table settings, presentation, and dining room appearance meet the highest standards.Assist with service concerns promptly, professionally, and with guest satisfaction in mind.Ensure all team members consistently follow proper telephone etiquette, greeting standards, and response times.Oversee scheduling and shift coverage to ensure appropriate staffing levels.Coordination & Communication
Collaborate closely with the Management team to ensure seamless timing.Consistent communication with hosts during service.Ensure accurate entry, confirmation, and updating of reservations in the RESY booking system.Audit guest notes, dietary restrictions, and special requests to guarantee seamless handoffs to service staff.Maintain complete knowledge of hotel and restaurant services, menus, hours of operation, and local area events.What you’ll do :
Create genuine connections with every guest—welcoming, seating, and anticipating their needs.Oversee seamless reservation management and dining room operations.Inspire and support a dedicated Host team.Collaborate closely with F&B Managers.Maintain records of reservations, deposits, and special requests accurately and securely.Ensure compliance with safety procedures, accident prevention policies, and confidentiality standards.Assist in developing and updating training manuals, service standards, and procedures for the reservations department.Perform additional supervisory duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience in luxury hospitality, lead hosting, or Maître d’ type roles.A polished, confident presence with exceptional communication skills.Expertise in fine-dining etiquette and reservation systems.A passion for delivering personalized, memorable guest experiences.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service.Knowledge of reservation software (RESY preferred) Open Table, etc.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
