General Summary : Unum Group seeks IT Delivery Directors in Atlanta, GA. Applicants who are interested in this position may apply for consideration.

Leads functional areas of multiple agile teams to successfully build, enhance, transform or support technology and / or business services by delivering on outcomes. Engages in strategic planning with business and IT stakeholders, to provide direction, guidance or recommendations on technology and architectural considerations. Defines a portfolio of change and roadmap. Engages and influences IT and business leaders to ensure the portfolio will deliver agreed business objectives. Collaborates with IT leadership across various disciplines, provides guidance, direction or recommendations to address a wide range of business and technology needs, with an emphasis on optimized, timely and successful delivery. In collaboration with their manager, initiates and influences relationships with and between key stakeholders involved in the management and implementation of IT plans, acts as a point of contact for stakeholders, planners, designers, and operational business partners. In partnership with practice leaders, drives application of the company's technical and architectural roadmap objectives. Leverages deep understanding of IT, emerging technologies, and technical capabilities to guide and influence stakeholders and teams in developing solutions, build, deployment, testing and ongoing management of IT services. Takes bold action to ensure there is a strong, diverse talent and leadership pipeline in place to meet aggressive business goals. Develops, coaches and engages people to higher levels of performance. Understands the needs of a self-organizing team and supports the management activities that make self-organization successful. For Agile teams, ensures that the scrum team(s) apply the best software engineering practices including, but not limited to : test driven development, peer reviews, continuous integration deployment practices, unit and regression test automation, comprehensive approach to addressing NFR, adherence to standards, comprehensive 'definition of done,' team retrospectives, etc. For Infrastructure and Operations teams, ensures that we benchmark against associated services to keep service delivery and support at an appropriate cost. For Infrastructure and Operations teams, responsible for end-to-end management and delivery of infrastructure services. Understands patterns and trends that contribute to utilizing key performance indicators and critical success factors that will improve the performance of the organization.

The role will supervise 20 to 37 subordinates with the job title of Senior Software Engineers. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical experience plus 5 years of related experience. Requires 5 years of experience with the following : Building and executing IT delivery plans for initiatives with a variety of complexity levels; Presenting technical solutions so the value, cost, and timeline of the initiative are fully understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders; Developing and / or designing IT solutions; Using analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues and drive solutions. Requires 3 years of experience with leading initiatives using Agile / Lean SDLC framework. Requires 1 year of experience with the following : Working in the insurance or financial industry; Delivering solutions with Business Process Management platforms or Customer Communication Management platforms.

This position is based at the Unum Atlanta, GA office with the option to telecommute from home within normal commuting distance. 5 10% domestic travel to other UNUM campuses and training conferences. The position will supervise 20 37 Senior Software Engineers. 40 hours / week; $213,075 - $223,075 per year. This wage range supersedes the base salary range listed below, due to the salary range below reflecting a national range. The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience. $109,100.00-$224,000.00 Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
