Controller Position

West Sound Workforce is assisting a respected property management group in Tacoma, WA in their search for an experienced Controller to join their team. This locally focused company is known for its ethical business practices, integrity, and forward-thinking leadership. They leverage the latest technology and industry trends to provide exceptional property management services. Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional who can provide strategic insight, maintain strong financial controls, and support the organization's continued growth.

Shift information :

  • Monday Friday 8 : 30 am - 5pm
  • Onsite

What you will do as Controller :

  • Oversee the company's financial operations, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly and annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to guide strategic decision-making
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff, supporting professional development and department efficiency
  • Utilize accounting software (including Appfolio and QuickBooks Online) to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax filings, and other financial processes

    • What we are looking for :

  • Proven experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field, plus at least 2 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role
  • Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Appfolio Property Management Software and QuickBooks Online a plus
  • Excellent mentoring, team leadership, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and financial acumen, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
