Parakeet Health is an AI-powered patient engagement platform transforming healthcare by answering every patient call instantly. We reduce administrative costs and boost retention through 24 / 7 automation of scheduling, referrals, and outreach across phone, text, and web.

We recently raised a $3M Seed round (March 2024) led by Canvas Ventures (early investor in Doximity, CaseText), with participation from CoFound, Storyhouse Ventures, and notable angels Tom Lee (One Medical) and Adam Messinger (ex-CTO Twitter).

Our small but mighty team of 7 combines 25+ years of healthcare operator experience with deep AI expertise from Uber, Twitter, Rippling, Quora, and Microsoft. We're already serving major customers including Galileo, Genome Medical, a national primary care network, the 2nd largest dermatology group in the U.S., and a 300+ provider NYC health system.

We're hiring our 4th engineer to shape the product roadmap and scale alongside our customers.

Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with strong backend focus (70-80% backend) to design, build, and ship core product features. This hire will work closely with founders and customers to solve ambiguous problems, own projects end-to-end, and bring healthcare automation into the future.

Responsibilities

Lead 0-to-1 product development : take ambiguous problems, identify solutions, and ship to production.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product and customer-facing teams to deliver high-impact features.
Own end-to-end feature development - from architecture to deployment to user experience.
Contribute to technical direction and product roadmap in a small, fast-moving team.
Ensure reliability, scalability, and customer impact in everything you build.

Ideal Candidate

Experience

4-8 years as a full-stack engineer leaning backend (70 / 30 or 80 / 20).

For 3-5 YoE , must be exceptional (top school or top startup).

Proven 0-to-1 product development track record : owned ambiguous problems and shipped solutions.

Background in high-growth Series A / B startups ; Big Tech / FAANG is acceptable but not exclusively.

Bonus : Ex-founder , healthtech experience , or YC / Tier-1 VC-backed startup background .

Education

Degree in Computer Science (or related) from a top 30 CS program (e.g., Stanford, MIT, CMU, Berkeley, Waterloo).

Hard Skills

Strong backend intuition and full-stack experience.

Proficient in Python .

Experience deploying features to production with a customer-first mindset.

Familiarity with React and Django is a plus.

Exposure to LLM APIs or AI agents is a plus.

Soft Skills

Strong communicator : can clearly explain tradeoffs and product rationale.

Thrives in ambiguous environments - resourceful problem-solver who talks to customers when needed.

High-output mindset with a strong work ethic.

Product-oriented : cares deeply about customer impact of shipped work.
