Industrial Engineer role at Epiroc
Join our team in a role focused on developing warehouse and logistics processes and systems within the Distribution Center. You will be a versatile industrial engineer applying analytical tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and productivity, including value stream mapping, capacity planning, facility design, and layout optimization.
Responsibilities
- Drive improvement independently and be an innovator of new ways of working
- Develop processes to ensure efficient flow of operational functions while maintaining a safe working environment
- Contribute to the organization's understanding of customer needs
- Develop new processes to enable efficiency and effectiveness
- Design and implement operational layouts to improve internal processes
- Lead projects for the distribution center, including evaluation of new investments, pre-studies, implementation, and commissioning
- Train distribution center staff in new processes and routines
- Collaborate across departments to ensure effective communication within each function of the Distribution Center
- Benchmark and provide tools to measure business performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Supervise and direct Warehouse Auditor activities to support responsibilities above
The ideal candidate
Minimum two+ years of work experience in an industrial manufacturing environmentUniversity degree in Industrial EngineeringExperience with a warehouse management system (WMS)Understanding of metrics and KPIs and how to impact themProcess design for efficient operational workflowProcess improvement development to drive efficiency / productivityImplementation of new operational layouts to improve internal processesCapacity assessment and planning abilityChange managementStrong organization and follow-up skillsKnowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and pivot tablesProcess-focused mindset geared toward continuous improvement opportunitiesAbility to manage and prioritize multiple demands effectivelyProactive problem identification and resolutionAbility to transfer knowledge and educate others on new processesStrong oral and written communication skillsWork environment and notices
