Assoc Director, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting (hybrid)
Currently seeking an Associate Director / Sr. Manager, Accounting, who will report to the Corporate Controller. This position will be responsible for technical accounting research, memos and implementation of new accounting guidance and unusual transactions.
This role will assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings, manage the corporate accounting close process, including review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations, as necessary.
Our Associate Director / Sr. Manager will interact with our CFO and other senior level executives in support of accounting, audit, and compliance matters.
Additionally, this individual will provide cross-functional departmental support (financial & operational) in technical accounting and participate in cross-functional teams addressing organizationally impactful projects.
This position is located in our corporate headquarters in Westlake Village, CA.Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Technical accountingJournalizing (debits / credits)Creating financial statementsReconciling account balancesSEC reportingEvaluate and implement new technical accounting standardsApply relevant guidance and draft accounting memos to support conclusionsDebt and equity accountingLease and sale leaseback accountingStock based compensationMonthly review of senior accountant journal entries and account reconciliationsMonthly review of balance sheet flux analysisMonthly recording of debt, sale-leaseback, and office / car lease transactionsCompliance filing management (provide updates for information returns and registered agent site review of upcoming filings)Review of GAAP / SEC checklists, tie-out procedures performed by senior accountant, and various other quarterly tasksEducation and Experience Qualifications : Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience OR 8 years with a Master's degreeLicensed CPAStrong technical accounting skillsSEC reporting experienceBig 4 experience (strongly preferred)Analytic ability to identify problems and arrive at practical solutionsLarge ERP Software experienceDetail-orientedAble to multi-task, and is a team playerExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAdvanced Excel skillsSKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS note : bold skills and certification are required SEC ExperienceCPA (Active)Big 4 Exp (strongly preferred)Security Clearance Required : NoVisa Candidate Considered : NoCANDIDATE DETAILS7+ to 10 years experienceSeniority Level - Mid-SeniorManagement Experience Required - NoMinimum Education - Bachelor's DegreeWillingness to Travel - Never
