Work Hours : Day Shift / Full Time-40hrs / wk - 9am-5 : 30pm with rotating weekends and holidays. Weekend hours 6am-2 : 30pm

Work Location : Saint Petersburg, FL

Position Summary :

• The laboratory phlebotomist I is responsible for pre analytical processes including the performance of a variety of phlebotomy functions including specimen collection and sample processing in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
• Collects specimens in accordance with laboratory policies, reporting any variations to the supervisor.
• Functions are completed effectively and accurately ensuring the department's needs are met in a timely manner.
• Provides effective service excellence for each patient encounter ensuring positive outcomes.
• Possesses strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education :

• A minium of a High School Diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.

Work Experience :

• 1 year phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy certification course completion
• Rigid accuracy in identification & reporting of numbers and names
• Ability to enter computer data into Laboratory Information System
• Ability to use automated instruments and mechanical apparatus with appropriate training

Salary Range : Minimum 16.05 / hour - Maximum 25.69 / hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
