Counter Service is an innovative, chef-driven restaurant brand founded by Steve Ells , the visionary behind Chipotle , in collaboration with acclaimed Chef Andrew Black . After the success of our first location, we are expanding to three additional restaurants in NYC. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead our growing team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, team leadership, and adherence to our high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service. Experience with catering operations is a plus. While not required, familiarity with managing catering orders, logistics, or special events would be beneficial as we continue to expand this part of the business. The Restaurant Manager will directly manage the crew, oversee shifts, and ensure all NYC health and safety standards are met.
What You'll Do
- Team Leadership – Hire, train, manage, and develop restaurant crew members to ensure top performance
- Daily Operations – Oversee all aspects of service, ensuring smooth restaurant operation from opening to closing
- Shift Management – Handle scheduling, shift coverage , and step in as needed during busy periods
- Customer Experience – Ensure every guest receives exceptional service , resolving issues as they arise
- Problem-Solving – Address staffing, operational, and customer-related issues in real time and within budget
- Food Quality & Safety – Maintain high food safety standards , ensuring full compliance with NYC health regulations
- Restaurant Maintenance – Keep the restaurant clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Cash & Inventory Management – Oversee POS operations, cash handling, and inventory control
- Health & Safety Compliance – Ensure adherence to all sanitation and safety protocols
What We're Looking For
3+ years of restaurant management experience (quick-service, fast-casual, or full-service)Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a teamStrong understanding of restaurant operations , including staffing, inventory, and customer serviceExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environmentExperience using restaurant technology systems (POS, scheduling software, inventory tracking)Ability to work a flexible schedule , including weekends, nights, and holidaysMust have NYC Food Protection Certificate and NYC Food Handlers Certificate (Required)Strong English communication skills (verbal & written)Why Join Us?
