Position Description

Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum.

Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

Major / Essential Functions

Partner with faculty on study design, data analysis, and interpretation for clinical trials, cohort studies, case-control studies, and lab-based research. Provide expertise in designing research studies, including formulating research questions, recommending study designs (e.g., RCTs, longitudinal), and advising on randomization and blinding. Perform sample size and power analyses using appropriate software. Conduct or oversee statistical analyses using methods like descriptive statistics, regression models, mixed models, and propensity score matching. Ensure analyses comply with regulatory and ethical standards, particularly for clinical data. Write or review statistical sections of grant proposals (e.g., NIH, NSF), IRB applications, study protocols, and manuscripts for publication. Consult on data collection, quality control, and REDCap database development. Ensure data privacy and compliance with HIPAA and IRB guidelines. Grant Funded?
